The problem

Diagnostic access in rural Nigeria basically doesnt exist.

A Lagos resident can walk to a private lab. A villager in Borno cannot. The result: hypertension goes undiagnosed for years, gestational diabetes is missed, malaria is treated without testing. BodiCheck closes the gap by putting validated rapid diagnostics in the hands of community volunteers.

35%

Live >5km from any lab

More than a third of Nigerians live further than 5 kilometres from any clinic with diagnostic equipment. For elderly or pregnant patients, that distance is impossible.

3 in 4

Hypertension cases undiagnosed

Cardiovascular disease is the leading killer of Nigerian adults. Most patients only learn they have hypertension after a stroke or heart attack — too late.

14 days

Average diagnostic delay

From "I’m not feeling well" to "you have malaria" or "your blood pressure is high" is two weeks on average. Two weeks of preventable progression.

How it works

A volunteer. A device. A diagnosis in 5 minutes.

  1. Scan the patient ID.

Volunteer scans the patient’s NaijaHealth QR code. The app pulls their basic record (age, allergies, recent results) so context is there before testing starts.

⌘ Works offline · syncs when connected

  2. Run the tests.

Connect a validated device (BP cuff, glucometer, RDT reader) via Bluetooth or USB. BodiCheck reads the result automatically — no manual entry, no transcription errors.

⌘ 12 tests supported at launch

  3. Auto-sync & flag.

Results save to the patient’s NaijaHealth record. Abnormal values are flagged with referral guidance. Critical findings trigger immediate alerts to a supervising clinician.

⌘ Critical alerts within 60 seconds

More on the roadmap.

Every test in BodiCheck uses validated, calibrated devices and protocols reviewed by the Nigerian Medical Association. We wont ship a test that hasnt earned clinical sign-off.

Detects hypertension early. Critical for cardiovascular risk screening.
2 minutes
Blood Glucose
Fasting and random. Detects diabetes and gestational diabetes.
3 minutes
Malaria RDT
P. falciparum + P. vivax detection. Required before ACT treatment.
15 minutes
Urine Analysis
Protein, glucose, ketones, blood. Pregnancy and kidney screening.
5 minutes
Temperature
Infrared digital thermometer. Fever screening for outbreak surveillance.
30 seconds
Pulse Oximetry
SpO₂ and pulse rate. Critical during respiratory illness assessment.

Trust & clinical governance

Diagnostics demand discipline.

A wrong reading isn't a UX problem. It's a clinical risk. BodiCheck is engineered with that responsibility front and centre.

Device-validated

Every supported device is validated against laboratory reference values. We require manufacturer calibration certificates and run quarterly accuracy audits across deployed units.

NMA-reviewed protocols

The Nigerian Medical Association reviews our test protocols and referral thresholds. Volunteers operate within strict scope-of-practice guidelines, never outside.

Critical-value escalation

Critical readings (BP >180/110, glucose >15 mmol/L, severe malaria, etc.) trigger immediate alerts to a supervising clinician — never just a volunteer’s judgement alone.
